Canine Good Citizens
The Purina Pro Plan Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is a recognised qualification of Dogs New Zealand which tests dogs in simulated everyday situations.
Its purpose is to ensure that our favourite companion can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act with good manners in the home, in public, and in the presence of other dogs.
Through it, you and your dog will establish a closer bond and your dog will have the added benefit of knowing how to please you. The assessment of your dog’s manners and training is not a competition and does NOT require that you and your dog perform with precision but they do have to perform to the specifications required.
Dogs must be 12 months old before they are eligible to sit the tests, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start training today.
Canine Good Citizen Classes are on Wednesday night from 6pm.
